The East Africans Wellness & Resource Center is a reputable community support center in Saint Paul, Minnesota, that provides multicultural services from knowledgeable staff. Dr. Abe Gebeyehu and our multidisciplinary staff of specialists provide exceptional coaching, counseling, and mentoring support to men and women at East Africans Wellness & Resource Center.

Meet the owner.
Abe Gebeyehu
Founder of East Africans Wellness & Resource Center
Dr. Abe Gebeyehu has over 20 years of community service and engagement experience. He has well-rounded academic credentials, including a bachelor’s degree in Family-Life Education, a master’s degree in Community Counseling, and a doctorate in Leadership Education (EdD). He has worked as a mental health practitioner with clients with severe persistent mental illness and with young adults in School-Based Mental Health Services.
He has spent the last six years working in the mental health area in Saint Paul, where he lives. He has worked with African-American children, adolescents, and families at school, in their homes, and in the community. He has worked with people who have been through severe mental health crises, family adjustment issues, and trauma.
When addressing his client’s problems, he takes a person-centered approach with a structural treatment focus. He meets families where they are and refers them to outside options when more services are required. He acts as a liaison between the family, community, and other stakeholders in supporting his clients when there are impediments to success.
